Steve and I decided it was time to expand our family, so since we don't know when we will actually have a child, we thought a dog would be best. So we got a Boston Terrier puppy. She is named Marlowe. She is eight weeks old and we have had her for two weeks. She is adorable! She makes us very happy!!

Who could resist this face?

She does like to sleep with us, mostly right on your chest, or she likes to sleep under the blankets at the foot of the bed. She does help to warm the bed up!

I think watching Kaylynn interact with the dog is so adorable. She runs around yelling "puppy dog" and they chase each other. They are just adorable!

We are very happy with this new addition to her family!

We have been married for 5 Years!!!

January 6th was our 5 year wedding anniversary. It is so weird to think that we have been married for that long!! We have had good and bad times but I am married to my best friend, who I love so much! We went Dewz for our anniversary again this year. This time though we went around 3:00pm and no one else was in the restaurant, which we enjoyed. And since it was lunch we were able to get an appetizer, two meals, and dessert for the same price as our two dinners last year! I was excited about it! After wards we came home and just hung out with each other. Here are some pictures of our yummy food!

Christmas 2011

For Christmas Eve we spent it in Patterson with Steve's family. We had some good food and enjoyed playing games and watching A Christmas Story. I was kind of a slacker and did not get very many pictures but I did take pictures of the stockings that Steve's mom made from his Dad's wool socks. She has plenty to keep adding as the family continues to expand....someday. :)

For Christmas we went to my parents house. Had some more good food and got to hang out with family.

My mom got my dad an ipad for Christmas so here are the men setting it up.

The Berryhill's have been into The Big Bang Theory so we got them t-shirts from the show. Krista is wearing the one we got and we got Sam a glow in the dark Sheldon shirt. Looks like some one else had the same idea just earlier in the day...

We decorated sugar cookies and I was "helping" Kaylynn...I think she enjoyed this activity.

Lately I have been looking on Pinterest a lot and I saw this entertainment center that was converted into a pretend kitchen for some kids. It was adorable and they painted pink. I thought it would be pretty sweet to make for Kaylynn and Krista agreed, so we did it! My dad helped us a lot and here are some pictures to show how handy we are...

We did one side in chalk board paint so she could have somewhere fun to draw..

For my birthday I wanted the family to go bowling. I didn't do very well but I think we all had a good time. The Heningers also came down from Sacramento to hang out with us. After the bowling the girls went to Hobby Lobby and the boys went back to the house. ( On a side note...I could spend a long time and a lot of money in Hobby Lobby , that store is so neat!) Then we had dinner and dessert. It was a good way to spend a Saturday!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year for Thanksgiving Steve and all of his family went to Oregon to spend the holiday at his Grandma Karen's house. (Karen was very sweet to let us all stay with her. ) It was nice to get see everyone again. We got there Wednesday night and spent the night catching up and playing games of Rook and Sequence. Thursday was more games, food and catching up. We decided we wanted to go out for black Friday since Walmart was opening at 10pm. That store was crazy. Steve's mom said that the check out line was a 2 and 1/2 hour wait. We did take a couple of pictures at Walmart though....

After Walmart we went to the mall in the next city over, they had a Target. So here we are waiting at a drive thru, the line was very long so what better way to pass time then by taking pictures?

Target was crazy too, so since we weren't getting anything Steve and I sat down in the restaurant to watch people.

On Saturday we went shooting with Steve's uncle Jason. When Steve's dad passed away Steve got three guns. It was the first time we got to take them out shooting. The spot Jason took us to was so pretty and perfect for shooting.

Brian shooting the .308 , it was very loud and we didn't bring ear plugs probably not the smartest idea, but it was still cool. I could definitely understand why Jon loved that gun!

After shooting Karen took all of us bowling. They had a special where it was 5 games for $5. Not all of us bowled the whole time but we did have fun!

Mom's Birthday

My mom had a birthday this past week! We went out to my parent's house to celebrate! I, sadly, did not take very many pictures of my mom, but we had a great time anyways! I love my mom very much! She is one of my best friends and I am thankful to have her in my life!!!

This month we celebrated my Dad's 50th birthday. Of course to celebrate he ran a 5k with my mom and the Hansens. After that we met up at the Fruit Yard for breakfast. It was so good! After that our family with Andrew and Rachel's two little girls all went back to the house for presents and pumpkin pie (or cheesecake).

My dad is hard to buy gifts for but I think we did very good this year. My mom and Jeff got him a bean toss game...so of course we had to have Kaylynn model it before we used it :)

Jeff turned 20!!!

Jeff (the cute little baby in the picture above) turned 20 years old last weekend! It is so crazy to me that he is 20!! All of us are getting so old...We all went out to my parents house to celebrate. We had a yummy dinner of BBQ chicken, rice and corn on the cob. Instead of a traditional birthday cake, Jeff wanted cheesecake. It was so good! I couldn't even finish my piece it was so rich!

Kaylynn helped Jeff open his presents. Jeff is an avid reader as you can tell. We all got him books! I think between reading his text books and reading these books, he will have a lot of reading material to get through in the next few months! We all had a good time getting together for Jeff's birthday! We love you, Jeff! You are amazing!

New School Year...

Steve started at CSU Stanislaus this past week. Even though his registration date was late he was able to get a full schedule. He has class every day Monday through Thursday. I'm so proud of him!

In other non-related news we got a pizza from Wal-Mart the other day and it was huge! I mean I know our oven isn't a super big oven but really when the pizza takes up a whole rack that is a bit ridiculous! But Steve, the pizza lover, was in Heaven!

Montgomery Family Trip to the Zoo

My family decided to do a day trip up the Sacramento Zoo. We went to the zoo and then went across the street to Fairytale town. We also went to Funderland but did not stay too long since Kaylynn isn't big enough for the rides and none of the adults wanted to go on rides. I had a bad teacup experience there one time and it has scarred me for life.

After the zoo we went to lunch/dinner at the Golden Corral with my grandparents. It was so good to see them!
It was a fun day and we enjoyed spending time with our family!

Simmons Family Reunion 2011

Every three years Steve's Dad's family(Simmons) has a reunion in Grace Idaho. I have never been, but I have heard lots of great stories! We drove up with Steve's mom, sister and brother. It was a long 14 hour drive that of course I got sick on... but Grace is a very pretty area. Friday we started the day out with pictures of the families, and all kinds of races.

We had to take a picture with Steve and Becca(who is due in a coupe of weeks)!

That afternoon we all gathered at the park for lunch and to play softball, volleyball, and chat some more. I didn't play any sports but I did watch Steve and Adam, as well as many others, play softball.

Friday night was a talent show. Each family performs a talent. Since Steve's dad passed away a few months ago they did a tribute to him. One of the other family members made a very nice slideshow to share. So that was our talent. Other families sang, danced, and performed skits. After that we would hang out at the hotel with Steve's siblings, cousins, and aunts and uncles and played card games and socialized. Saturday we got up and went bowling. Steve's grandma is an avid bowler so we had to bowl with her and show her our skills. We got to play three games. I was so thrilled because I actually got the highest score out of the women! I got a 157 which even beat out Adam's score of 155. Which Adam is an awesome bowler so that was probably one of the best parts of the trip for me...sorry Adam! Since Adam I got the two high scores we were rewarded trophies for our athletic abilities.

Later that night the family celebrated Great Grandma Simmons 95th birthday! It was sweet to see all the tributes that were done for her. After the party we went back to the hotel and played Rook. We left on Sunday and it was again a very long drive. :)

It was so much fun to get to see very one! It was also nice for me to meet more of Steve's extended family. We had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again!

Kaylynn's first Birthday was this month! She is so adorable! Sam and Krista had a party at my parents house which was very fun! Here are some of the pictures!

DisneyLand

This past weekend I went to Disneyland with my friend Mary and her daughter's school band. We left on a Sunday and drove down to Anaheim. We had dinner at Medieval Times. I enjoy that place....its kind of fun to eat with no utensils! Then on Monday we spent all day in the park. We watched the band play and rode rides. I love to people watch and Disneyland is a perfect place for that. The stroller parking lots were very entertaining to me! (I was amazed at the stuff people would leave in their strollers while they were left unattended. ) Then on Tuesday we drove back. It was a fun trip! I haven't been to Disneyland for five years and that was for grad night, so it was nice to get to see the whole park. I also enjoyed getting to spend time with Mary and her daughter. I love them both!!! Here are some pictures from the trip!

Easter 2011

This Easter we went to spent it with my family. We had a nice ham dinner and then enjoyed spending time with each other. This year we did an Easter egg hunt, which we have not done in years! My parents hid the eggs in the backyard and we got to go search for them. Jeff decided he didn't want to do it, so both of the married couples did!

This was also Kaylynn's first Easter. She was adorable in her Easter dress!

Steve's Dad passed away this past Saturday. The funeral was yesterday. It was nice to hear all of the memories that people had of him. He is a man who knew the gospel and loved it. He was a hard worker and a good example to his children. His family will miss him very much, but he is no longer suffering and is now watching over his family and friends from the other side.

I have been trying to add things to our apartment to make it more our own. So I decided to do a family wall. These frames took me forever to find. These were on sale and came with the matting....other wise it would have been way expensive. I am only missing pictures of my sister's family, my brother in law and a big family portrait of my family. But even without that you still get the idea of what I am doing :)

Then for Christmas my sister got me some vinyl lettering so this is what I did with it... I had to hang it off center like that because I tried to do and discovered I can't use a measuring tape. So Steve helped me fix it to cover the holes but not have be too odd looking.

4 year Wedding Anniversary!

January 6 was our 4 year wedding anniversary. It seems just like yesterday that we got married! Steve and I went to Dewz for dinner and it was really nice. Steve and I both enjoyed our meals very much. After that we went home and watched a movie and enjoyed a nice relaxing night together! Christmas was fun this year. For Christmas eve I made some steak and it was yummy! Steve said it was amazing too!

After dinner we made gingerbread houses. They turned out pretty good except for one that is not pictured. It just turned out to be a cube with a lot of icing. :(

For Christmas we went to my parents, which was awesome. Amazing presents, lots of food, and great company!

It was a great Christmas! It is weird to think that the new year is just a few days away. Even crazier to think that Steve and I have been married for four years in one week! I turned 24 this year!! The night before my birthday my parents took my family and I out to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant El Rosal! It was soooo yummy. After that we came back to our place and ate cake and played some PlayStation Move. It was fun and I appreciated them spending time with me for my birthday!! This isn't the prettiest picture but, it's my dad and I fighting each other in the gladiator game. :)

Since Eclipse came out on my birthday Steve insisted that we have a Twilight themed party. It was fun...we had some people over from the ward over for a little bit, but it mostly turned out to be family...which is always nice! Steve decorated the cupcakes to be in theme with the party.

It was a good birthday for sure....now on to Christmas!

We are all moved into our new place and now have internet so now I can do quick update!!! We love the location of our apartment! It is close to both mine and Steve's work, close to all of our favorite shops, and we are our own! I am looking forward to the holidays! They are right around the corner...this means new craft projects and decorations to get! Woo Hoo!!

Moving to Modesto....

Steve and I are moving to Modesto at the end of this month!! We found an apartment very close to my work, which will mean that we can still have just the one car. It will be a new and exciting time for us! We already have mostly everything packed up to! Here are a couple of pictures of all of our stuff in the garage while it waits until we move. Since my last update, Steve was able to get on with CVS Distribution Center in Patterson working full time. This has been such a blessing to us. Steve like his job and is working very hard. That had really been the only amazing thing that has happened. Since Steve has been working nights I have rediscovered "The Bachlorette" and "Teen Mom" and pretty much reality TV in general. I also tried a new craft project. Sarah gave me a phrase in vinyl lettering as well as a wood board to put it on. I bought some paint and went to town. After three coats of paint and applying the letters, I think the finished product looks good! So of course I had to include a picture!!

The Month Of May.....

May was not really the eventful until the end! On May 21st, Krista and Sam had their baby girl, Kaylynn! She is adorable!! here just some pictures that I took of her the other day. I did notice that I did not have any with her parents....sorry Sam and Krista we will have to take more of all of you!! Kaylynn is awesome and we are all excited she is here!

Also another big thing was that Jeff graduated from high school. He is such a grown up now! It was pretty cool to see my little brother graduate! Jeff is going to go to Boise State in the fall, which means we will have to be spending lots of time with him this summer before he goes. Love you, Jeff!

MJC Graduation

Last Friday Steve, Brian, Sam and Myself all graduated from MJC. It was a fun thing for all of us. They didn't line us up in any particular order so the four of us got all be by each other and get our degrees at the same time. Most of our family was there too, which meant so much to us! The ceremony was nice also. It wasn't too hot and it wasn't rainy! Before the ceremony we had to wait in the gym for an hour or so, so we took some pictures!

Yesterday was Krista's Baby Shower! We had such a fun time with family and friends! There was a good amount of people there and lost of food, presents for baby Kaylynn and plenty of good times! I made a mostly Do It Yourself necklace holder. I had too many necklaces for my jewelery box to hold, so I found a necklace holder/tie holder online. I, of course, thought that it needed some "spicing up". So after many Google searches I decided to place the necklace holder on another piece of wood and put glass mosaic tiles around it. We got all the stuff for and put it together! Steve and I grouted the tiles (James and Brian helped too). I also found some super cheap hooks at Target and put them on the sides so I can hang my bracelets on there too. Steve had to help me with placing the hooks and nailing the wood together, because I am pretty weak when it comes to upper body strength apparently. But even still we had good time and I think it looks pretty sweet! This was my first really kind of do it yourself craft so I am very pleased!My next project will be helping Krista refinish some furniture, so more new experiences with DIY!

We did have some tile left over so Steve is going to make coasters with them :)

New Computer!

So my laptop that I got before Steve and I were married has been on its way out and we decided to get a new computer! Steve of course did research and it of course had to be Sony. (Steve has a thing for Sony electronics.) The computer has a touch screen that is 24" and is an all-in-one. Those are really the only technical things that I know about it, but I know that it does not take half an hour to turn on! And, having a desktop is awesome! Steve and I are also excited because now we can play Sims 3...the laptop could not support it and when we loaded it on the new computer the game did not even recognize our video card. Hopefully this means we can play Sims for a long time to come :) Later this month is Krista's Baby Shower, so there will be pictures from that and Steve and I (along with Sam and Brian) are graduating from MJC!! So April should be exciting and go by super fast!

Steve's 26th Birthday

Steve's birthday was March 10th. We had dinner at the house with his family, and pizza was served! Pizza is Steve's favorite food by far!! Steve got to open his cards and presents and then the rest of the night was spent just spending time with family...which is always fun! Then on Friday we went to Outback with Brian, Kristine and James. I had never eaten there so it was a new adventure for me, and of course we had to order the Bloomin' Onion. Super Yummy!!! We did have a little excitement at the restuarant. Right as our food was being delivered something happened to make the waiter drop all of our plates right in front of our table! Luckily no one was hurt but, we ended up having to wait a little extra for our meals. We did get our appetizer for free and the staff was super nice about it. This also meant that our food was super fresh! Steve thinks that being 26 makes him old, but I don't think so! Hopefully this next year will be full of new and exciting things for Steve (and me)!!

Kerry and Kala's Visit

A couple weeks ago Steve's friend Kerry and his wife Kala came down from Washington to visit. They got here on Feb. 5th. That was a Friday night so of course we had to go to In-N-Out! Both Steve and Kerry ate two 4x4 burgers!! Kala and I were content with cheseburgers and animal style fries! On Sunday we watched the Super Bowl together and had lots of yummy food! Since Steve had school and I had work, Grace was kind enough to take them to Monterey on Monday and Oakland on Tuesday. On the following Friday we went to the Jelly Belly Factory and did the tour! It was pretty cool. They left on Saturday, but not before getting some more In-N-Out. It was fun to get to know Kerry and Kala better! Hopefully we will make it up to Washington someday!!!

10-4 Old Buddy!

So I now this is not really amazing or really sad but it made me a little sad. Plus, I needed to post something for this week, right? Anyways...my poor straightener decided to pass away. It has gone where all wonderfull hair styling products go when they dye....HAIR HEAVEN! Also, my mom gave me that straightner so it means even that much more to me, because it was a gift. It has made me realize how much I like little things in life. I know that a hair straightner is not life or death but I do like using it and I enjoy the outcome when I use it. But thankfully Sarah let me borrow hers until my new one gets here. Now I get to be a cool kid and have a CHI straightner! Also in other news... Kerry and his wife, Kala, got here on Friday and we have been hanging out with them all weekend, there will be more pictures and blogs to be posted for sure!

For Christmas Brian (Steve's brother) got me a cute zebra print vase Then a couple weeks ago Steve and I went into Pier 1 and I began to look at their vases. I found one that I thought was adorable!! So I got it and have now decided that I am going to collect vases! It is totally random but I thought it could be something interesting. Steve has even been very supportive and always points out vases that he think I might like. Now I always have something to look for when we go into stores :)

Besides collecting vases, the Spring semester has started. These next four months are going to fly by!! Steve and I are so busy during the week. I now wake up Monday morning looking forwad to Thursday night because that means I can sleep in the next day!! Also, next week Steve's friend Kerry and his wife are coming to visit. We are going to go to In-N-Out when they get here and probably do some sight seeing when we don't have school or work. There are sure to be some good times!!

January 6th was our three year wedding anniversary! I do not even know where those three years went! It was a good night we rented "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and had some pasta that Steve made for me. He was very sweet and it was perfectly themed! I do not know what life would be like without Steve...I love him very much! I know that even though things may get tough for us we have each for all eternity and that is what matters at the end of the day! Also Spring semester starts tomorrow! I am taking 13 units (I haven't done that in like 2 years!) and Steve is taking 16 units! We will be very busy for the next four months, but if everything goes to plan we will both graduate from MJC with associates degrees!! Then Steve will go on to CSU Stanislaus and I will begin applying for hygiene schools in the fall! It is weird that we are so close to starting a new chapter in our life, but I think we are both looking forward to it, even if it is maybe a little scary! That is about it for now hopefully I will have some more fun stuff to write soon!

This Christmas Steve and I set up our own Christmas tree and we were very proud of how it turned out!! It was pretty fun to look for ornaments. Steve and I also did a good job on presents for each other. Steve did the twelve days of Christmas for me. It was very sweet! We were excited because Becca and Adam were able to come and spend the holidays with Steve and his family this year. Becca was very sweet and cut and dyed my hair while she was here...I love it, and I think she will make an excellent cosmotologist! We went bowling and Steve reached a personal best of 202!! He was very excited to say the least! We spent Christmas morning with the Dimters and then Christmas evening with the Montgomerys! Both of our parents were very generous in their gifts to us and we appreciated them very much! We are excited to play with all of our new games and goodies!!! Another good part of the holidays if the food! Steve's mom made an awesome turkey dinner and then Christmas breakfast was waffles and sausage....yummy! Then for Christmas night my mom made some yummy dips and her fudge was so good!!! And then for dinner was tri-tip! So good. The holidays are such a fun time for me. I enjoy being with family and creating memories with them! Next Christmas is sure to be different, but I am looking forward to what it will bring! Here some pictures of all the fesitivies!!

New Car!!

After a month and a half of not having a car, Steve and I finally purchased our own car!! This was our first "grown-up" purchase that we have made together. It took a little while to decide on what we wanted but we did it!! We bought a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta. It is white with black leather on the inside. It also has a sunroof and all kinds of other goodies!! Steve and I are pretty excited about it! So since we got this car the insurance finally settled with us but it only took a whole month to do!!! Oh well, Steve and I feel like things are on the upswing now!! Hopefully, I did not just jink myself ;) Things that are coming up for us are going to SF next weekend with our friend Mary and her kids, family pictures, family birthdays and registering for the spring semester! Anyways...here are some pics of the new car .....

Steve and I both finished the Spring semster with good grades!! During the summer Steve took a math class and I got a break from school!! For this fall semster I am taking physiology, while Steve continues to take accounting classes. We also took a trip to Reno with my family and that was very fun!! Steve found that he likes the slot machines ;)

Another interesting thing that has happened was that on August 19th as I went out to go to work I discovered my car was missing!! Unfortunately it was stolen the night before!!! We reported it to the police and the insurance people. They did find my car but it was majorly striped. No seats, broken/missing windows, no deck or amp, the tires were gone, and it was shot at it :( It was pretty sad seeing my car at the tow yard! They did find it out in the country near Patterson. That was my baby and it is gone. That car has been in my life since I was 11 years old. I know it sounds odd, but that car was my friend and I will miss. As of yet, the insurance company has yet to settle and the police have nothing to tell us!

On a happier note....Jeff turned 18 on Sept. 4th!! My little brother is not so little anymore! It was a very good time we had a family dinner together and got to spend time with one another, which is always a good time! Krista and I (with Sam and Steve's help) decorated his room with balloons! On the 6th it was Sarah's. Chris's family came over and that was a good time as well! That pretty much catches everyone up to speed!! Hopefully that catches everyone up on what has happened with Steve and I over the past six months! Hopefully I will get better at this whole blogging thing!

I used to have a blog set up for Steve and I but I didn't like it so I made a new one plus I never posted anything on it! :) Here is to a fresh new start! Steve and I are still going to school, Steve is taking a bunch of accounting classes and I am taking Microbiology. I am still working at Dr. Openshaw's.....pretty much nothing new with us ;) Steve did turn 25 on the 10th of March. We also went to Sacramento a couple weekends ago. Brian's girlfriend, Kristine, and I went to look at Sacramento City College's dental hygiene information meeting. Steve and Brian met us up there and then we went to the zoo! That was fun! I also enjoyed the zoo, we were going to go to fairytale town, but they were closed when we were done at the zoo. We had a good time hanging out with them! Here are some pictures from the day!
